CALNET, Inc. announced today that it has received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 27001:2013 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) certification.
ISO/IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization. An ISMS is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information so that it remains secure. It includes people, processes and IT systems by applying a risk management process. The information security management system preserves the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information by applying a risk management process and gives confidence to interested parties that risks are adequately managed.
The appraisal was led by Concept QA Labs and the record of the CALNET certification can be verified by checking the Directory of Certificated Organizations maintained by the Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment Bodies (ACCAB).
