CALNET wins Illinois Department of Transportation Contract Vienna,
Virginia, July 9, 2002 - CALNET, Inc. a leading provider
of Information Technology and Telecommunications Solutions,
announced today that they have been selected by the Illinois
Department of Transportation for the development of the Maintenance
Management Information System (MMIS). This project includes business modeling, requirements analysis
& design, implementation, test (reliability, functionality,
and performance), deployment (produce product release, migration
of existing software or data, training & acceptance), and
configuration & change management for the new Maintenance
Management Information System (MMIS). The
new Maintenance Management Information System will replace the
current Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS). This
system is a strategic asset of IDOT used in the management of
all highway maintenance completed by IDOT. The
users of the Maintenance Management Information System are personnel
in the Bureau of Operations of the Division of Highways, in
each of the nine district offices. Other users include personnel
in the Central Bureau of Operations, the Bureau of Accounts
and Finances, the Day Labor Section, and the Central Sign Shop.
The
Maintenance Management Information System will run in the IDOT
NT network environment. The centralized portion of the system will be used for the major
processing functions of the system. It will provide for the
entry, management, inquiry and reporting functions of the Maintenance
