CALNET signs agreement with Argus Systems Group
October
25, 2001
Vienna,
Virginia, October 15, 2001 - CALNET, Inc. a leading provider
of Information Technology and Telecommunications Solutions,
announced today entered into an agreement with Argus Systems
Group, Inc. of Savoy, IL to provide implementation and managed
services for Argus' PitBull Secure Application Environment technology
and products to CALNET customers in the Washington, DC area.
Kaleem
Shah, President of CALNET Inc. said, "I'm very excited
about this partnership. Argus' PitBull product provides our
customers with impenetrable operating and application environments,
which will reduce the total cost of ownership for their network
and e-business initiatives. The strength of their product, combined
with our staff's network expertise will help prevent future
intrusions and attacks on our customer's information assets."
Steve
Oetegenn, chief operating officer of Argus Systems Group, Inc.
said, "CALNET has the technical capabilities and staff
that we need to provide managed services to our customers in
the Washington area. We are proud to have them join us in the
fight against hackers and provide secure and stable networks
for our public and private sector customers."
The PitBull LX intrusion prevention system secure application
environment makes it possible for enterprise administrators
to rapidly create and deploy highly secure, cost-effective e-business
server environments. PitBull LX protects web-facing servers
from attacks to alter data and web pages, steal proprietary
information or monetary assets, violate consumer privacy protections,
launch denial of service attacks, and otherwise tamper with
system and data resources. PitBull LX's ease of installation
and intuitive functionality support a totally revamped, security
policy that is based on 'locking-down' an enterprise's operating
system.
"PitBull
LX is the ideal security to complement CALNET's existing e-security
practice of supporting high-end mission critical environments.
By their very nature, those environments demand high assurance
security solutions like PitBull LX." Said Elizabeth McGrath,
CALNET's Director of Business Development.
Corporate
and government systems managers are struggling to provide easier
access to applications and data in the face of an increasingly
hostile network environment. Events of September 11 have only
heightened those concerns. Deployment of Argus's PitBull allows
open access to applications without fear of security compromise
through exploitation of application vulnerabilities. PitBull
is a powerful 'safety net' - protecting systems from known and
yet-un-patched vulnerabilities as well as unknown and yet-to-be-identified
weaknesses.
