System Administrator

Senior  Systems Administrator with Active DOD  Secret Clearance

Job Description

The Systems Administrator supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems that are web-based.  Work includes optimizing system operation and resource utilization, updating administration manuals, updating security plans and network diagrams, adding and deleting users, upgrading software, configuring and installing new hardware, testing and debugging the system, monitoring the system for problems, placing service calls, performing system capacity analysis, and planning and monitoring the system for security problems using intrusion detection software. Providing assistance to users in accessing and using web-based systems is another duty.

Job Requirements

The administration of UNIX (specifically Sun Solaris) and MS Windows servers such as Windows 2000, and J2EE application servers and web servers.  The operation of a large-scale web-based system or a multi-server or local area network.  iPlanet Web Server, iPlanet Messenger, iPlanet Application Server, IBM WebSphere, Windows 2000 Server, web-based 3270 emulation products, Raptor firewalls, SSL acceleration, load balancing, Citrix servers, T1 lines, link controllers, network analyzers, VPNs, digital certificates, F5 Big-IP, Sun Solaris, JDBC connections to SQL databases, configuration management, and security intrusion detection products.
