UNIX Server Deployment Engineer with TS/SCI Clearance

Job Description

The candidate will be tasked to take a primary role in Server Modernization Deployments for UNIX Servers (SUN & HP) Server systems. Perform server modernization analysis and assessment, determine consolidation targets of opportunity, deploy new servers, migrate and transition to operational service delivery teams for life cycle support. Provide DC Services modernization technical support to a highly integrated local and wide area networked client/server environment to meet strategic systems goals and ensure compliance with service levels. Complete technical projects related to hardware, software and storage array installations and upgrades and ensure timely effort reporting to management. Prepare current operational environment to deploy new technological advances to help meet strategic business goals and client requirements. Provide technical leadership, train and mentor more junior technical staff.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have demonstrated Server Support experience, a strong working knowledge of workstation/customer support in a mixed UNIX/WINTEL environment. SUN Solaris a must; Veritas, Net Backup and clustering preferred, scripting and programming experience using UNIX Kornshell, Bourne and "C" a plus, experience with Sun Enterprise Server (Sun Solstice), Networking TCP/IP, firewall and or application support, directory services, and Web hosting. Looking for highly motivated, team-oriented individual who is able to work effectively under pressure. Must have good communication skills (both written and oral), to work effectively with vendors, clients, and other team members.
